London Wine Week

With London Wine Week now on the horizon and the excitement building as we approach the start, we decided to take a look at the best places to go during the event:
Bleeding Heart Tavern
The Tavern Bar at Bleeding Heart has rich history dating back almost three centuries to 1746. In those days the slogan read ‘drunk for a penny and dead drunk for two pence’ whilst we can’t guarantee the same prices, the wines on offer will keep you coming back for more, time and time again.
Located in the heart of Farringdon, the traditional pub exterior has a definite French influence when it comes to the food and wine from more regions than Phileas Fogg has been to.
Throughout London Wine Week the Bleeding Heart Tavern will be offering the Trinity Hill Flight as its trio of wines: Trinity Hill Sauvignon, Trinity Hill Rose and The Pinot Noir.
The Sign of the Don
Located in an ancient wine vault, The Sign of the Don is The Godfather of wine bars in the heart of the city. A modern and stylish retreat for wine lovers, the bar is filled with vintages from across the world. The restaurant finds its roots in its surrounding, offering a modern take on British cuisine.
The Bar will be offering a Trinity Hill Flight trio that will be different to Bleeding Heart: Trinity Hill Chardonnay, Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels and the Trinity Hill Trinity. The fun doesn’t end there with the restaurant offering 50% off all wines over £50 during dinner, and a complimentary fortified wine throughout the day on any order of 5 piece cheeses.
If that doesn’t convince you, your wristband also gets you access to the famous Old Sandeman Port Bottling cellars located on the site, as well as the medieval cellars.
Vinoteca is the one stop shop for wine lovers. Enjoy a glass or two in the bar, gorge yourself on the Modern European menu and treat yourself to a gift in the wine shop. Taking its multi purpose style from the wine bars of Spain and Italy.
With wines ranging from the rich and opulent to the pure and textured, Vinoteca is a must during London Wine Week.
With locations across London, Vinoteca will be one of the few venues where you can purchase the all important wristband for London Wine Week that will entitle you to all the fabulous deals on offer.
Vinoteca will be providing two separate flight offerings across the five locations with Marylebone and Chiswick focusing on a trio of wines and spritzes to refresh its customers during a hopefully, sunny week. The remaining three branches will be offering three separate wines by the glass, perfectly matched with a tapas dish for £5 each.
That’s not all, with Vinoteca’s highlight during the week coming in the shape of a special winemaker dinner with Eric Texier on Tuesday at the Marylebone branch, you can join them for all the fun with tickets being sold here.
Sager + Wilde
The first of Michael & Charlotte Sager-Wilde’s venues to make our list - Sager + Wilde is a true Hackney gem.
Sager + Wilde will be offering a wine flight throughout the week, including a Swiss rose, a white (Humagne Blanche) and a red (Gamay).
What better place to end other than Mission in Bethnal Green? This is the second spot from the dynamic Sager + Wilde team on our list, and we love them. Suitably found on Paradise Row near Bethnal Green, there is a heavenly selection of wine available to delight the taste buds.
Taking inspiration from across the Atlantic, the Californian style wine bar is one of the coolest in town, and will be offering a selection of American wines of each colour, including a grace bridge Pinot, Leese Fitch Sauvignon blanc and birichino rose.
Mission will also play host to a London Wine Week closing Party with wine magazine of the moment, Noble Rot on Sunday 24th May. Serving up a host of rare and unique wines, there will be barbecue and all star DJ set including The Midfield General and James Righton. Don’t miss out on your chance to experience the thrills here.
