CORAVIN SYSTEM NAMED EDISON AWARDS FINALIST FOR 2014
Groundbreaking Wine Technology to be Recognized at Edison Awards Gala on April 30 in San Francisco
Burlington, Mass., March 10, 2014 – The Coravin™ System, by Coravin Inc., has been named a 2014 Award Finalist in the Consumer Goods category by the internationally renowned Edison Awards™. The distinguished awards, inspired by Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.
“It’s exciting to see companies like Coravin continuing Thomas Edison’s legacy of challenging conventional thinking – especially in the wine category, that holds its traditional practices in the highest regard,” said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards’ executive director. “Edison Awards recognizes game‐changing products and services, and the teams that bring them to consumers, and Coravin is a perfect example of a transformational product; we’re thrilled to have them among the finalist set this year.”
Coravin Founder, Greg Lambrecht is an innovator and inventor at heart. He was inspired to make Coravin when his wife was pregnant and he could no longer enjoy a great glass of wine without having to commit to the whole bottle. He spent ten years perfecting the Coravin System which now allows consumers, restaurateurs, wine store and winery owners everywhere to pour wine from bottles without ever pulling the cork. Coravin's revolutionary technology, which leaves the cork in place safeguarding the wine from oxidation, has already started to transform the way wine is enjoyed, served and sold.
“When you combine passion with the intellectual curiosity and drive of the great team at Coravin, the results are unstoppable,” said Coravin Founder, Greg Lambrecht. “The Coravin System was inspired by my love of wine. It is incredibly rewarding to see how our innovation is positively transforming the industry and expanding the avid consumer's enjoyment of wine. I’m honored that Coravin has been recognized as an Edison Award finalist and look forward to sharing my passion with the Edison family, to inspire future generations of innovators.”
To honor innovation and answer question about the Coravin System, Greg Lambrecht, will co-host an Edison Awards #InnovationChat, taking place on Twitter at 3:00pm CST Thursday, March 20, 2014. Follow @Coravin and @EdisonAwards to participate.

Coravin designs and markets the Coravin System for wine enthusiasts, restaurants, wine stores and wineries. Unparalleled in craftsmanship and design, Coravin uses proprietary patented technology to access and pour wine from a bottle without pulling the cork.
