This Crazy Device is About to Completely Transform the Wine Industry
"Starting at around $40 and climbing as high as your credit limit will allow, for most people a bottle of wine at a restaurant represents a significant financial gamble. Sure you can enlist the help of a well-versed sever or sommelier, but you can never be sure that the bottle you want to choose is right for you. If only there was a way to taste the wine without actually opening the bottle…
The Coravin, a futuristic wine opening device created by medial equipment developer Greg Lambrecht, is a new piece of technology that can extract wine from the bottle without opening it. The device uses a fine needle to pierce the cork and extracts the wine using a complex pump system. The wine is then returned to the shelf completely unaffected by the process, and continues to age as if nothing ever happened."
