Installing and Replacing a Coravin Capsule
  • 1A.Hold Clamp Release Lever up.

  • 1B.Slide Clamp all the way up.

  • 2.Unscrew Capsule Cup.

  • 3.Insert round end of Capsule into Capsule Cup.

  • 4.Quickly screw Cup back onto System until there is no gap and Cup is aligned. This ensures a tight seal and no gas loss.

  • 5.Slide Clamp down until it locks into place.

  • Note: A RED Light Ring indicates Coravin Capsule is empty and needs to be replaced. DO NOT replace Coravin Capsule before Light Ring is RED. It will waste all remaining gas.

  • Note: Coravin Capsules are made of recyclable materials. EMPTY Capsules can be recycled according to local regulations. DO NOT dispose of unused Capsules.

Pouring Wine

NOTE: Use on bottles with natural cork (remove foil to confirm), or on screw cap bottles using Coravin Screw Caps.

NOTE: Make sure Clamp is in the down position before use.

  • 1.Pick up System. Light Ring will illuminate BLUE indicating System is ready for use.

    2.Place clamp over neck of bottle.

  • 3.Push down with palm of hand on metal surface to insert Needle through cork. Push until Light Ring turns GREEN, indicating System is ready to pour.

  • 4.Hold Spout over glass and tilt bottom of bottle up until wine pours automatically. Light Ring will illuminate GREEN in a cascading motion.

  • 5.Tip bottle upright to stop pouring.

  • 6.Hold bottle with one hand. With other hand, flip up Handle and pull System straight up and off in one swift motion.

    NOTE: A few drops of residual wine may be seen on top of the cork.

  • 7.Rinse System before storing.

  • 8.Store bottle on its side in temperature controlled area suitable for wine.

NOTES:
  • System will periodically release small hiss of gas to fill Needle with argon.

  • Natural cork will reseal by itself. Cold or older corks may take longer to reseal. If cork continues to drip after several minutes, cork may be plastic and will not reseal.

  • Remove System from bottle after pouring to prevent oxidation.

  • System will go to sleep automatically after 15 seconds. It will wake up again when moved and Light Ring will turn BLUE.

  • Wine quality is impacted by many factors. Use Coravin System only as intended and properly clean System after each use. Coravin cannot guarantee the quality of any wine and will not be responsible for damage or loss of any wine unless that damage or loss is found to be caused by a defective Coravin System.

Changing Between Sip and Glass Modes
  • 1.Push Button to toggle between “Sip” and “Glass” Modes.

  • 2a.“Sip” pours about 1-2oz (30-60ml) of wine.

  • 2b.“Glass” pours about 5-6oz (150-180ml) of wine.

Charging the System
  • 1.Connect the USB cord to any standard USB power adapter, 5V, 2.4A max.

  • 2.Plug USB power adapter into power outlet.

  • 3.Plug smaller end of USB cord into System’s Charger Port. A full charge may take up to two hours.

    Note: Battery icon will pulse when charging. It will be solid WHITE when fully charged.

  • 4.Disconnect USB cord from System before use.

BATTERY STATUS

A YELLOW Battery Icon indicates a low charge.

A RED Battery Icon indicates the battery is empty and must be charged. System will not work when the Battery Icon is RED.

Cleaning the System
  • NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. DO NOT USE SOAP, CLEANERS OR DETERGENTS. ONLY USE WARM, CLEAN WATER TO CLEAN.

  • SOFT CLOTH ONLY. ALLOW USB PORT TO DRY BEFORE CHARGING. WATER IN USB PORT MAY AFFECT CHARGING CONNECTIVITY. DO NOT CLEAN WHILE CHARGING.

  • 1.Rinse System before storing by placing Spout under steady stream of warm, clean water for at least 5 seconds.

  • 2.Dry with soft cloth.

Thoroughly Cleaning the System
  • 1.Flip Handle up and twist quarter turn counter-clockwise. Pull up to remove Spout.

  • 2.Run warm, clean water through Spout.

  • 3.Pull Needle by grip, straight up and out of System

  • 4.Rinse Needle under warm, clean water. Rinse away all particles from filter, found at top of Needle.

  • 5.Rinse System with warm, clean water paying special attention to Clamp and needle well. Ensure Clamp moves up and down with ease.

    Note: Do not submerge system in water.

  • 6.Dry everything with soft cloth before reassembling.

  • 7.Move Clamp to up position. Insert Needle, tip first, into needle well until aligned and seated. Needle is keyed to only fit one way.

  • 8.Place Handle over needle well, as shown, and twist quarter turn clockwise into place.

  • 9.Slide Clamp down until it locks into place.

    Note: If after cleaning System wine seems to pour slowly or in a non-uniform manner, Needle may be clogged and needs to be cleared.

Clearing the Needle
  • 1.Remove Needle following steps 1-3 from previous section: “Thoroughly Cleaning the System.”

  • 2.Insert Needle Clearing Brush into top of Needle and twist to release particles. Remove Brush. Repeat as needed.

  • 3.Submerge open end of Needle Clearing Tool in cup of warm, clean water. Pull plunger to draw water into Tool.

  • 4.Insert Needle into open end of Tool until fully seated.

  • 5.Press plunger quickly to push water through Needle.

    Note: Repeat until Needle is clear.

  • 6.Reassemble System following steps 6-9 from previous section: “Thoroughly Cleaning the System.”

Traveling with the System
  • System uses a Lithium Ion battery and compressed gas. For air travel, be sure to comply with all airline regulations. Many airlines do not allow travel with compressed gas (Coravin Capsules).

  • To conserve battery while in transit, put System into Travel Mode:

  • 1.Press and hold Button until Sip and Glass Icons blink (about 5 seconds).

  • 2.To disable Travel Mode, push Button once.

    Note: System will not operate in Travel Mode. Disable by pressing Button once when ready to pour wine.

Troubleshooting
PROBLEM: Wine is not pouring.
Probable Cause
Solution

System is not completely seated onto wine bottle (Light Ring is still BLUE).

Push System completely down further onto bottle. Light Ring will turn GREEN.


Bottle is not tilted enough.

Raise bottom of bottle higher. System will pour automatically when bottle is tilted enough.


Battery is empty.

Charge System.


Coravin Capsule is empty or missing. Light Ring is RED.

Install new Coravin Capsule only when Light Ring is RED.


Needle is clogged or damaged.

Replace if damaged. If clogged, refer to “Clearing the Needle.”


Filter in Needle is clogged.

Refer to “Cleaning the System.”

PROBLEM: Wine is pouring slowly.
Probable Cause
Solution

Pour slows down before System is finished pouring glass of wine.

This is normal. Wine pours more slowly towards end of glass.


Sip Mode may be engaged. Sip Icon is illuminated.

Push Button to turn Sip Mode off and pour faster.


Needle is clogged or damaged.

Replace if damaged. If clogged, refer to “Clearing the Needle.”


Filter in Needle is clogged.

Refer to “Cleaning the System.”

PROBLEM: It is difficult to insert and remove System from wine bottles.
Probable Cause
Solution

Coating on Needle may be worn.

Replace Needle if tip is worn or damaged.


Some corks are more difficult than others.

This is normal. Use Handle for extra leverage to remove System from bottle.


Wine is built up on the Clamp.

Rinse clamp thoroughly under warm, clean water. Refer to “Cleaning the System.”

PROBLEM: The cork is leaking/dripping.
Probable Cause
Solution

Bottle has a plastic cork which does not reseal.

Only access wines with natural corks.


System was left in the cork for too long.

Remove Coravin System immediately after pouring.


Wine left in Needle sometimes drips onto the top of cork.

This is normal even if cork has resealed. Wipe top of the cork with paper towel or cloth.


Cork might be cold, old, or dry and has difficulty resealing.

Give the cork additional time to reseal.

PROBLEM: There are particles in the wine.
Probable Cause
Solution

Cork particles or sediment in the wine have passed through Needle.

This is normal for some wines.

PROBLEM: Coravin Moments App for iPhone does not find System via Bluetooth.
Probable Cause
Solution

Bluetooth is not enabled on the iPhone.

Enable Bluetooth on iPhone.


Coravin Moments App is not downloaded on iPhone.

Download Coravin Moments App to iPhone from App Store.


System is too far from iPhone.

Move System closer to iPhone.


System battery is empty.

Charge System.


System is connected to different iPhone.

Disconnect System from other iPhone. System can only be connected to one device at a time.

PROBLEM: System is unresponsive.
Probable Cause
Solution

System is in Travel Mode.

Push Button once to exit Travel Mode.


Battery is empty.

Charge System.

    CAUTION: DO NOT USE with sparkling wine or Champagne.

    NOTE: Not intended for use with plastic corks. For screw cap wines, use Coravin Screw Caps.

    DO NOT expose System to extreme conditions, including rain and excessive heat.

    DO NOT submerge System in water or other liquid.

    System is not dishwasher safe.

    System is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.

    System contains non-replaceable Lithium Ion battery.

    DO NOT attempt to open System.

    Tampering with System may cause overheating, fire, and injury.

    Dispose of System according to local regulations for electronic devices.

Connecting to Your Model Eleven
  • 1.Download and open the Coravin Moments App from the App Store®.

  • 2.Navigate to “My Coravin Systems” from the main menu.

  • 3.Click “Add a System.”

  • 4.Select the “Model Eleven.”

  • 5.Select “Add to My Systems.” The System will automatically pair with the iPhone®.

    NOTE: You will be asked to create an account during this process.

  • 6.The Bluetooth icon on the Model Eleven and iPhone screen will illuminate when connection is complete.
