The Educated Grape
Aglianico from Italy & Xinomavro from Greece - Live Virtual Class
April 15 - 7:00pm EDT on Zoom. Aglianico and Xinomavro are classic examples of great indigenous varieties, produced solely in regions within these countries. Both are truly rustic in style and represent the terroir in which they are grown. Aglianico, which is mainly grown in Campania, is rich, full bodied and tannic style and is one of Italy’s great red grapes next to Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. Xinomavro, which is mainly found in northern Greece in the Naoussa region, is similar in style possessing a beautiful and untamed richness that is ideal with grilled meats and lamb. This class is ideal for the wine lover who enjoys full bodied reds and is looking for new alternatives to Cabernet Sauvignon. We will be featuring 2018 Terredora Aglianico and 2016 Kir Yianni Ramnista Xinomavro. After registration, you will receive the Zoom link the morning of the class.
